Today we intended on an early start but woke to rain falling fairly hard on the RV rooftop. It is and was somewhat of a peaceful sound - so we just laid in bed and enjoyed the peaceful easy feeling of a lazy rainy morning. Once we finally did jump up we headed into the garage for a morning workout routine. Dawson has gotten really good at jump roping and I had my yoga going on my pc and well Franki got a little bit lippy with dad and got sent back to the RV. Q was hanging out watching Royals stuff on ESPN as he is really excited for the World Series to start today!
We finished our workouts, ate breakfast, cleaned up beds and got dressed ……time for school to start. We got quite a lot done with school. Q and Mena did some Kahn Academy online as well as our normal stuff we have been doing. We wrapped it up around 12:30 and needed to head out to get dad a car rental, pick up our hopefully FIXED ipad and find some books from the “battle of the book” list to start reading. Oh and we had a few items to mail so we located a post office. We dropped dad off and headed to UBREAKIFIX…..love this place. The guys that work there are really good and like to show the kids how the electronics work. Carlos is the one that fixed our machine and he showed us a few broken ones from the back that they use for training. It was really cool to see the inners of these small electronic machines. Carlos said he started as a kid taking his gaming systems apart. He said it irritated his mother but look at him now – making a living out of it. He said he had 10 ipad aires to fix for Lilly by the end of the week. He stays busy! Fascinating how some folks turn their passions into a living! Go CARLOS….thanks for fixing our ipad. Hope we don’t need your service again.
The kids and I then found a Half Price Book store and although they only had 1 book on our list….the kids each found at least 3 books that they wanted to read. So we got them- goal is more reading – less electronics. They read all the books they brought from home so it was time to renew our selection.
Ok, there was this awesome pet store next to the book store….so in we went for our daily fieldtrip. It was a really cool store with lots of varieties of animals. We ended our time there hanging out in a booth with 2 puppies. One was a little yorkie named Grace and the other was sweet little lady Chiwawa puppy named Miko. She was so funny running from lap to lap to lap and then jumping at me sitting on a bench. She included all of us….she was fun. Although I am CRAZY, I am not crazy enough to have her come home with us!!! I am not adding a puppy to this RV adventure, the kids tried but I held my ground and we finally got out of there. The rain continued all day and infact picked up late afternoon when Q was trying to fish again.
Addison and her dad stopped by prior to here gymnastics so the girls played with her for about 20 minutes or so. We then decided to carve pumpkins. Q and I had picked up 2 more pumpkins so that we would have 3 total….since we had the one from Heather from our first night on the RV. So we rounded up some carving tools, asked Leonard for some newspaper to lay down on the garage floor and had a family pumpkin carving session. We usually print out elaborate patterns and use some fun tools that I have packed up at home….so being that we are on the road – we are just doing simple pumpkins the old fashioned way. Each kid with a knife. They did pretty well as they are old enough now to pretty much dig out the seeds and carve on their own. I was impressed actually with how cute they turned out! Happy pumpkin carving RV / Allen garage style!!!!
Dawson and Q then headed out with Leonard to look at another car. They are going to be late to the start of the game ….as I write this they are introducing the Royals line up! Let’s GO ROYALS, Let’s GO!!!!
KC and the K is looking good on TV!!!!
Ok – time to sign off to watch the game!
