Wow…… Royals since you kept us up half the night – and I’m tired – It’s a good thing you boys in blue won that first game! Good job- being ROYAL! I tried so hard to stay awake for the final ending of the Royals game but I could not keep my eyes open any longer. Dawson and I are on East Coast time now so it was pretty late here in Indy. We finally had moved back to finish watching it from the bedroom TV and once I was horizontal – I couldn’t stay awake. I knew from his cheers it was good but this am when he got up early to go see clients – I rolled over and asked really quick –“we won last night right?” He confirmed that we did and I went back to listening to the rain pour down on the roof of the RV. It was so relaxing and once Dawson left I intended to get up and get the kids moving on school and some kind of fun outing. But instead Summer crawled up in the bed with me and it started raining harder and harder and well, we didn’t get a very early start. But finally we started stirring around the kids started by reading their new books while still laying in bed. Leonard said it rained over 2 inches last night and all of today. I am so glad we went out and explored Monday – since the weather has kept us from outdoor activities the last 2 days.
We did pretty well with school today. Learning positive and negative numbers, more telling time, predicates and subjects, new spelling words, math patterns and word problems and using number lines. I am re-learning so much these days. They did a little journaling but I would like them to write more.
We took turns using the shower in Leonard’s awesome garage and then headed out in the break in the rain to see down town Indy. We got down there and of course it started to rain again. We were going to go to the Children’s Museum but then decided not too. Instead, we parked and braved the weather and walked around down town. Franki contributed to 2 homeless guys funds for the day. One of them was a veteran in a wheelchair and he was so thankful to her. The other was a colored man that said, God loves you and I love you. They were both very grateful and told us “God Bless you all.” She has a huge heart and she told me that she love giving stuff to people, mom – it makes me feel good.”
Oh and by the way, we stopped in a Panera in downtown Indy – and the manager told us that all Panera’s quit serving French Onion Soup…..Quinten was mad – but is that true – did they take FOS off their menus? Crazy that is our favorite thing in the winter to go get a big bowl or 2 of french onion soup and buy a bagett of bread and sit and talk and dip our bread in the soup and talk and eat warm soup.
But not today……no - NO FRENCH ONION SOUP FOR YOU!!!!! The way the manager said it to us that is how we felt – NO SOUP FOR YOU!!! And they were also out of BAGGETTS – what is up with Panera in Indy. Anyway - the sky was showing more rain was coming so we loaded up and headed back to Whiteland, the RV and the comfy garage. The kids convinced me that we really needed some halloween stuff that we didn’t have much for costumes. I wanted us to all dress in our Royals gear and just be World Series fans – but no ….they want costumes. So we saw a halloween store and it was by a target and since we needed milk and a few groceries – since only a few fit on board – we went to the halloween store. The girls found things that they both had seen in a magazine at home back in August and were so excited. And they had the horse head that Q wanted. We got them all …..then they took me to the display of creepy things and scared me that I almost threw the bag of costumes we just bought up in the air. Get me outta here! I don’t love all the creepy, scarry stuff of Halloween. I like the sweet little kids and how cute they look. I will miss not seeing Finn man and baby Tessa for halloween.
We went to dinner with the Allen’s when we got back to the RV. We went to a local Mexican Restaurant and had a tasty dinner and really enjoyed the company. The Allen's are well known and everywhere we went with them - they knew people. It was fun to have Leonard and Felicia introduce us as friends from KC traveling the country as a family for as long as we can handle it. He would say this is the "gal behind it all". After we ate and enjoyed just hanging out, we said our good-byes to Addison as they were taking her home for the night and we would be leaving Indiana tomorrow afternoon. The girls didn't want to let go and say good-bye.....they really enjoyed playing with Addison. I told them they will see her again and we told her she needs to let us know when they come to KC to visit Amy and her family.
We went back to the RV and Dawson and Q decided they wanted to watch the Royals game in the coolest man cave on the planet - in Leonard's GARAGE.
So we all hung out there for awhile - including all us girls, Felicia too. Pretty soon, Felicia said that she was ready to call it a night. We also had to say good-bye and give hugs again because we would probably be gone by the time she gets home from work tomorrow. We thanked her for being such a gracious host! She was fun to talk to and was so sweet with the girls and making sure we had everything we needed.
It will be hard to leave tomorrow but it’s time to move on. The kids are curious where they are going to trick or treat this weekend. Let’s go figure that out….tomorrow as we move on.
Another Royal win tonight and they are moving on too! Be Royal!
