Magical Day….Sunday!  Making new friends.

Sunday, October 19th, 2015:  I awoke to the girls wanting to “start yesterday all over again”!  Franki said mom, can we rewind and start this day all over again.  She had huge crocidile tears in her eyes as she was so sad it was over and she had such an amazing time! She didn’t want it all to end.  She said, “mom, it went way too fast.”  And sweet Frankilyn is so right…..it went way too fast.  It was an absolutely amazing time and we all had a great time celebrating Haylie and Matt.  Papa Ivan and others gave some great toast / speeches about Haylie and Matt.

We got up and we went to Haylie & Matt’s suite for bagels and donuts and juice.  It was really a fun morning.  We said a few good byes and then I let my kids swim again with the Fercho’s from Minneapolis.  We then went back up to shower off the pool water and to pack up to check out.  Back into our RV home we went…and off to get Summer we were headed.  Dawson had taken Summer up to a friend of a friends on a farm about 20 minutes out of town in Verona.  He dropped her off there on Saturday and wanted us to all go up and meet the Ahlman’s when we picked her up.  (see Dawson’s blog for more details).  First of all – the drive out there was magical…..a nice sunny morning with fall colors all around.  Then the family that greeted us – Scott, Angela, Madi and Max were amazing, and Summer was very glad to see us.  I was excited to see her too – I must admit, I miss her when she isn’t around.  But she had a great time with their dog, Buddy and running all around their house and land.  Their home was amazing – very modern and very efficient.  The kids ran off to hang out with each other and all us adults hung out in the family room area.    Angela was intriquied with our story and why we decided to leave home and travel around in the RV.  It is interesting – people admire and tell me so – that they admire our courage and strength to actually do it.  So fun to get to know new people and share stories.  The Alhman’s are amazing people and I connected with Angela right away.  She was strong and steady…she shared school ideas and we talked about our families and friends.  She shared some deeply personal things with me and I felt like we had been friends for years.  Scott gave Dawson and I a tour of the house that they both spent 2 years designing and several years building….but man is it beautiful and sitting right up there on the countryside of Wisconsin rolling hills – it is truly breath taking.  The Ahlman kids taught our kids how to throw and catch with the lacrosse ball and sticks.  Madi took the girls on a 4 wheeler ride and Q and Max flew our drones.

Angela invited us to stay for lunch – she was making a hearty sundown soup and it smelled awesome.  We accepted the invitation and stayed all afternoon.  It was a great time and no one wanted to leave but we needed to head south to Chicago before it got dark.  It’s difficult to set up in the dark.  It was hard to leave – and even though we just met them – we all loved their company and hanging out.  We said goodbye with the hope that we will see them again.  Haylie and Matt live in Madison – so we will be back and visiting the Ahlman’s will be on the list as well.  Thanks Ahlman’s for your gracious hospitality, good food, good conversations, and good people!  Oh and thanks for watching Summer….I know Scott said Buddy did all the work.  Thanks to all of you -Summer had a great time.

Now on to Lehman's RV Resort in Marengo, Illinois.  We had a beautiful back road, country drive to the RV park.  We were glad to get settled in for the night.  Here's to seeing the area and going into the city next week.
