Then I captured Quinten's attention and got him trapped up in his room to start the process with this clothes. Reluctantly he got through the "yes" or "no" and "does this even fit" process in about 40 minutes....boys are so much easier than girls with this type of activity. Anyway, we had a few laughs and talked about how it felt to be leaving - YES, in 3 days! As a family we have talked about this trip for so long that we are all excited but yet nervous to really be doing it. I enjoyed my one on one time with both Franki and Quinten.
I was never able to capture lil crazy Mena and actually got side tracked with needing to make dinner, and do some other things that she still has not started to lay out her clothes. All the laundry is now clean - so tomorrow after her 1/2 day of school...she is going to hang out up in her room with me and get all her clothes packed. She will not be excited and will do all she can to "not get it down"....it will be a battle of the wills tomorrow afternoon and I have to win.
What did Dawson do 4 days before departure? Well, the salesman and hard worker that he is - drove to St Louis for the day to call on 2 clients. As if he isn't going to get enough road time! He left super early this am - like I think it was 5 am and I think he got home around 6 pm.
Today, I loaded up the RV with the majority of the home school books, more bedding and bathroom belongings. I purchased a few more plastic baskets for storage and bought some velcro to keep things in place. I think I did 4 loads of laundry today and started in on my clothes for the trip.
Tomorrow is the kids last day of school for now! It is the end of the 1st quarter and it will be a 1/2 day. I have agreed to let the 2 older kids have some friends walk home with us tomorrow just to keep them busy. I will officially be their teacher starting next week - here is to my new career as a TEACHER!
