On Sunday, 10/4 we had the RV parked across the street along the curb in front of our neighbors house. We opened up our garage and set up tables for buffet style food line and after church - family and friends started dropping in to wish us well on our journey. It was really fun to have the RV here for people to see and tour and really get a feel for our "home on wheels".
We had many amazing friends & family come by here that day to wish us well. Some we see often and others that we don't get to see enough. My 95 year old grandma, Dorie and her 90 year old husband, Myron even drove up for the day! Yep they still drive! I am so blessed to have them at some many major milestones in my life - this one was extra special though....so thank you Grandma Dorie and Papa Myron....you give us all so much to aspire too! Thanks for your love and support!
It was such an amazing time and very emotionally charged day. As a family, we felt so much love and support! To all those that were here - thank you! Thank you for taking the time to come see us. I know it was a busy weekend and I also want to thank everyone (near and far) that sent us emails, phone messages, calls, cards and text to wish us a safe journey! The love and support we felt as a family was amazing! It was really powerful for the kids to know that we have lots of support for this unique journey. Thank YOU!
I was truly blown away as I had envisioned a send off of some sort but doing it here at the house and having a steady flow of friends for 4 hours was bigger and better than anything I had imagined. I continue to be blown away as I savor the moments of each day of this journey that has already begun. My favorite thing on Sunday - was each time I saw one of my kids they were grinning from ear to ear and excited to see a familiar face. I also loved having both my homes right here....it was great to have the RV on site for people to see.
I will be riding the high of Sunday for weeks to come. I know I will pull strength from the feelings of love and support that we got all week long! For those of you that gave us a gift - they were all very meaningful and unique...very thought out. We were not expecting gifts so that was extra icing on this already very sweet cake!
God is good - all I can say is THANK YOU!
