Ok…it’s moving day for this vehicle. We decided the night prior that we would not do school on Friday since we would be heading to the hotel and seeing our cousins. So we got up, ate, took Summer for her morning walk or at least I did and then we started packing up our belongs and gathering our wedding stuff to put in the van. Time to pull our house back in order to head out on the road again. This time only about 1/2 hour down the highway in Madison. We had to go to the dump station and clean out the tanks on the RV. You don’t want details on that task but as good as Dawson is gtting at it – this one was a close call on a potential mess on our hands (literally). But some how he was able to move the tube with his foot and save the day! We both were laughing and discussing what a close call that was!
We then headed out of Lake Kegonsa State park. We didn’t hook up the van and since I had been to the hotel already –I had mapped out the best route for him to take the rig. So we headed out. It was about a 25 minute drive to the other side of town. Closer to Matt and Haylie’s apartment. We got there and had an easy time maneuvering the RV into its resting place for the weekend- especially since it was early in the am and the parking lot was fairly empty. We got all arranged – pushed out the driver side slides to create more room and then waited for the Minneapolis Fercho’s to arrive. They were at Aunt Sarah’s favorite place – yep you guessed it TARGET. She was kind enough to pick up wrapping paper for our wedding gift and a few last minute items. I also need to thank Sarah for purchasing matching jackets and tights for all the girls fo rhte wedding. She is absolutely amazing and thinks through and anticipates various details. Thanks Sarah for all you did prepping our pretty girls for the wedding ceremony!
Ok so once all the girls hugged and jumped around in excitement and Q tolerated all the girl hugs…..guess what they wanted to do next? You got it, this Holiday Inn Suites had a pretty nice water park with a slide and all. So even though our rooms were not ready….the front desk provided our wrist bands and well with the RV to hang out in – everyone got their swim suits on in privacy. Then we headed in. Sarah and I started with a refreshing beer – let the weekend begin. It was almost 11 am and it was going to be a celebration…..yep a big wedding celebration!!! We were so excited and the pool allowed us to burn off some of our extra energy. We reached out to Aunt Kass and cousin Lila too – they were checking in at their hotel and then Kass would bring Lila over with the other kids. At around 1 or so Lila showed up- Yeah all the FERCHO cousin’s (yep all girls- poor Q) where together at last. We ate lunch by the pool and basically the kids had the place to themselves until about 4 pm. Sarah and I enjoyed our time catching up and visiting by the pool. And it was warm in there. Probably the first time all week – in which I was really warm.
We finally had to round the kids out of the water and have them head up to our rooms to clean up for the rehearsal and the dinner with family and friends after the rehearsal. Sarah and I loaded the kids all up in the van and headed back to the lake. It was a nice rehearsal and Haylie and Matt did a great job introducing everyone to each other. It was really nice to meet grandma Julie’s family and the neice and nephews that we have heard about for so long. The practice was bit cold as the wind was whipping off the lake at the wedding site. They practiced 2x and we called it good. We are going to pray for less wind and more sunshine for Saturday at 3 during the main event! But regardless of the weather – it is a beautiful golf course and a sweet wedding site for Haylie and Matt.
We headed back to the hotel for the dinner – it was very tasty and the kids had fun ordering drinks from the open bar….lol – they were kid friendly. We had a great time and Dawson struggled with staying in the room for dinner and checking the main entrance bar area TV’s for the Royals game score.
It was game 1 against the Blue Jays. And we won. Haylie gave the kids some fun gifts; drinking cups with their names, bracelets with their initials and Q got a monogrammed hanki. He wasn’t sure about it at first but then realized how cool it was.
The wedding is going to be amazing……it’s off to bed for the sleepy kids and the little bit loaded daddy! Him and Evan had made a trip to the liquor store when we started swimming and yep I think they drank all afternoon and when we got back to the hotel from the rehearsal – well Dawson was slurring his words a little. But that’s ok – he was with his family and it has been a stressful couple weeks – so have at it.
Happy weekend to all – Love is in the air!!!
Cheers to Haylie Jo and Matt!
