Today we slept in a little – mostly due to the time change.  I think we are on east coast time now in Indy.  Anyway, we got up and ate and dressed and going with school.  The kids actually snuck outside while I was cleaning up breakfast and getting school stuff out.  They had snuck into the garage to slide around on the Y Flicker and ride bikes while dad worked out in the garage.  I found them and got them back in the RV to get started with school.   I started them with journal entries on their weekend adventures.  They all wrote quite a bit.  We then moved on to math and I actually sat with each of them and did a lesson to make sure they were getting all the information.  The past week I let the older 2 kids go on their own.  But now I am pushing them to get through 2 lesson’s today.  They are doing pretty well with the math.  Mena is moving right along with her’s too.  She and I do more one on one as that is how it is designed in the lower grade material.   I think we are getting into a groove and hopefully we can start adding some stuff and rotating using the pc for some of our work.

Anyway, Dawson found the UBreakIFIx and gave them a call.  We got an idea of just how expensive the damaged ipad would be…..OUCH for sure…..around $179.00.  Crazy!!!!   Anyway, we got through the core of our school work pretty well today – I had them gather some materials and help me make sandwishes to take with us and we headed out with the broken ipad.  As we were getting ready to leave the Allen’s a one of the workers at the car dealership on Leonard’s property – was out with his tiny baby puppy that was a little yorkie.  His name was Chris and his dog was Riley.  She was absolutely adorable at 9 weeks old weighing only 1 pound.  The kids loved her and she chased them around the yard.  Mena decided that’s what she wants for her 10th birthday since Q got Summer on his 10th birthday.  LOL….cuz I need something else to take care of –right!?

We finally left and took the ipad in – Ben was great to work with and said they would call us when it was done.  Since the sun was out and it was so pretty out and it was beginning to warm up – we decided to head out on an adventure.  We got the GPS to give us some ideas and we decided on the Indy Track and the Race Car Museum.  It wasn’t too far maybe 16 miles or so.  It was a fun day outing.  We even took a ride in a bus around the track.  Pretty darn cool.  The craziest part of the day was how sore Quinten and Franki complained of being from their workout yesterday with their dad.  So guess what is on the school agenda tomorrow am….yep another workout session with dad in the morning.  The only way through the pain is to work it out again.  Quinten said his tae kwan do teacher use to tell him “pain is your friend”  - Franki wasn’t buying that.  Mena seemed fine but out of all 3 of them – she is the most flexible.  Being a competive gymnast growing up – I struggle with my kids lack of flexibility and body strenghth.  We are going to work on it on this trip.
We returned back to the Allen’s so the girls could play with Addison when she got out of school at 4 and Q wanted to fish and try to catch the big bass.  Q decided he needed some live worms for bait so Leonard told us where to go and we headed out for 2 pumpkins and live worms.

We never got a call on the ipad being done – and when we finally did – it was time to join the Allen’s for a lovely chili dinner that Felicia cooked up for all of us to enjoy.  It was awesome and very tasty.  We shared some chili secrets and I will plan on using a few of Felicia’s tips.

After dinner the girls played more with legos and Q headed back out to the pond.  He was only gone about 7 minutes when he came running back to the house and into the kitchen to share with us that we needed to come see - but that he had caught the big bass that Addison and Jeremy told him about.  He was so excited.

I helped Felicia clean up the dinner table and then Dawson and I headed out to take Summer for a walk in the neighborhood behind their house.  It was a good walk and the full moon was rising.  We started to talk about where we should head next.  Halloween is this Saturday so we need to trick or treat someplace.  And we are really trying to get to DC before it gets too cold there.   The walk was good – cool crisp evening - not too cold or breezy – we enjoyed some time to ourselves.  It was a nice walk.

Leonard’s brother, Kenny stopped by and we had a fun conversation with him.  Such great people and he really liked Summer – he had her all wound up and howling at him.  Q liked him too – funny guy.
Addison left with her dad and I finally got the girls to come home to the RV.  It was time to get in a few showers, wrap up our day and go to bed.

Good day, good weather, great people……so grateful for friends that feel like family!  Allen’s you all rock!   Tomorrow – more of Indy …..exercise session in am with dad, pick up ipad and make mom’s wallet even lighter, school work and going to pick up a few new books off the Battle of the books list for the kids.
All is well ….as we are into week 3!
Thanks for catching up on us!
