I can not believe this is the last day of November - time is flying by and before we know it 2015 will be coming to an end. It's a little crazy. We have been on RV - working on our 8th week. It seems to be feeling more comfortable, more natural...I think we are all starting to get adjusted to life on the road, home schooling, and lots of TOGETHERNESS! Our Thanksgiving weekend was enjoyable and fun!
Up School – it was hard to get back into the routine after having the 4 day weekend to play. We did it but boy it took them awhile to get going. I might not be able to let them off that many days around the next holiday. I only have 3 them too, I have a new appreciation for the teachers that have 18 to 25 or more students to wrestle back in after a holiday break.
Lots of fun and games and Mena still sad after Summer chewed up one of her two plastic horses that Mena brought on the RV. Summer ate it last night while we watched a movie as a family.
We giggled and had fun but I was starting to loss my patience for the lack of focus going on today. We had told Carla we would be over for lunch. It’s a good think that she knew it would be closer to 1 or after. We got to Carla’s for lunch around 1:45 or 2 and I brought the PC for Kahn Academy and a few books to get them focused to finish. Steve was working again with Jim but with all the rain they worked inside. Dawson stayed on the RV to work and study. It rained all day.
Steve came home and we left the kids with him while Carla and I left to go shopping at Kohl’s it was around 4 pm. We were able to picked up D’s dry cleaning as it was in the shopping center by Kohl’s that worked out well. We bought a heated blanket for Carla’s sister and actually ordered it online in the store to ship to her. It took us a bit. Carla bought a fun Christmas candle too. I walked throught the kids section but didn’t get anything. We then went down to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for my family in the RV –milk, bread, cereal, lettuce and such. We also got broccoli for our dinner tonight to at Carla’s kitchen.
From the grocery store, we were pretty close to the RV. So we called Dawson to get ready. Told him we were bringing back his dry cleaning, and some groceries and that he could ride with us back to Carla’s. He was ready to call it a day as it was not well after 5 pm. Hopefully, my kiddos are behaving for Steve and not driving him crazy!
When we got to the camp ground it was raining hard again. Dawson help us get the groceries into the RV and put away. Dawson piled into the truck with us and we headed back to Carla & Steve’s home. Once we got there…..kids and Steve were reading watching TV. Everyone was quiet and mellowed out.
Carla and Steve fixed dinner – Mena and I made chocolate chip muffins to have on the RV this week. Once dinner was done, we all sat down to eat. It was a very tasty meal – chicken and brocolli casserole and it was tasty! Cookies and hot muffins were dessert.
We enjoyed some Monday Nite football on TV and another few games of pool before calling it a night and heading back home to the RV. Summer liked hanging out too and Carla couldn’t get over Summer’s trim! She looks so different with her haircut.
I stayed up watching TV and then I ordered Christmas cards and RV business cards. Shipped them to Cheri’s house in Sarasota. I hope they turn out ok….I was so tired but kept going…..hope I spelled everything right. Oh well…..it’s the experience right.
Holiday cheer in this raining weather! I think it rained over an inch last night. Steve said he agreed and thought that it might have been a little bit more. It is cold, wet and damp.
REFLECTIONS- still thinking about gratitude and the various leaves that I learned at church yesterday. I think be grateful helped me several times today when I felt I was going to lose my cool with my kiddos while doing school this am. Patience…….I am so grateful for being patient as my kids learn from our school on wheels.
