On the agenda today:
Haircuts at 12:30 with Heather – Carla’s hairdresser for the past 20 years.
We got up around 8:30 today – the beds were so comfortable at Morris and Lisa’s house that the kids slept in. We woke to the sun up – which was a very welcomed site for me! I got up telling the kids to rise and shine like the sun…..we haven’t seen it in a few days so it was great to see it out this am.
I got the kids going on a little bit of school. Q sat on the couch in the comfy corner spot with blankets. Franki and Mena and I sat at the kitchen table. Dori was running back and forth from the play room and watching some tv. The kids did pretty well, but Mena wanted to play with Dori and not focus on school. I finally got her through a few lesson’s prior to breakfast being ready. But I was a little frustrated that she didn’t listen like she should have.
They ate breakfast – Lisa cooked again – eggs, bacon and some cake – banana breakfast type cake. Yummy. We then went up and got dressed and ready for the day and I took all our stuff out to the car. We left Lisa’s at 11 to go to Carla’s house to get her and then head to meet Heather at the Salon. We left Summer at Carla’s house. Carla was sweet, she gave the girls each a pair of Christmas socks for the holidays. They were super cute and festive for December. We had a nice visit with Carla while driving to the salon.
Up next, 3 haircuts for these kids. At Heather’s Salon we met Heather, Sue and a client named Mary that was super sweet. Mena went first then Franki and lastly Q. Franki and I took off our nail polish while we waited and then painted my toes and her nails. Once Mena was done I painted her toe nails and her finger nails – and it was fun to sit in the massage chair. It felt really good.
Heather braided the girls hair when she was done with their haircuts. It looked really good as both of them have had their hair down all week. It looked nice pullled back and braided. Mary was a super sweet lady that enjoyed our story. Carla knew Mary from being in the salon. Mary was on the mend from being really sick this past year. She looked really pretty and I felt blessed to have met her today. Sue was also really nice too – she did nails and was waiting for a client. But once Mary left it was really only us in the salon until Denise, Sue’s nail client showed up. We had to give up our massage chair. Bummer – but at least we got to use it a little bit.
Tomorrow is Heather’s birthday and the client brought her a big Hello Kitty. You can see it in one of our photos. The girls loved it. Heather told them she really liked Hello Kitty and being the only girl in her home she liked girly things.
Once we were all done, we paid Heather and thanked her for fitting us in this week. Thanks Heather for the great haircuts we needed them. Once we were done, I knew the kids would be hungry, so we asked Carla if she wanted to eat with us at PDQ. She had told use that it was a place that served all fresh food and that they had great chicken strips. So we went there to eat. It is close to Carla’s and it was fairly slow in there as it was around 3 pm. The kids got a little goofy at the restraunt but thought it was really good. We really liked the ranch dressing they had….very tasty. It was really fun to hang out with Carla today. We enjoyed it and appreciated her effort to make the appointments and to go with us to hang out in the salon.
After we ate, I wanted to run to Academy Sports since it was in the parking lot. Although Christmas is close, Franki really needs a new sweatshirt. She is wearing one that my sister got her last Christmas and it is getting way to tight. She has grown a lot since we left home and I want to get her a new sweatshirt.
There was a lot of fun stuff to look at in Academy and the girls found some apparel on the clearance racks that we decided to get. Franki got a new sweatshirt, a pair of athletic pants and Mena got a new tshirt that was really marked down low. Q was ok with waiting – Christmas is close buddy. Thanks for waiting it out. Carla – thanks for hanging out with us today, taking us to Heather’s Salon and for the awesome Christmas socks you gave the girls! They are super fun!
We went back to Carla’s and Steve was home from working with Jim. Summer was there at the house with Steve – since we had left her while we got the haircuts. Steve said she was good. Carla and I took her for walk while the kids hung out with Steve. The three of us walked up to the neighbors where we had Thanksgiving a week ago – Victor and Klari’s house. Klari was having some issues with her Verizon service and they were leaving for Canada tomorrow am. Carla thought maybe she would let me assist her with calling Customer Service or something. She said it was ok…..sounds like they got the run around but maybe they have it cleared up now. Carla will be checking in at their home while they are gone. She will water the plants too. We said good-bye and wished them a good holiday with their kids and grandkids. Such sweet people.
Carla and Steve decided they would come back to the RV with us so Steve could put back on the closet door and the cabinet door that he fixed for us. We were excited that he was able to help us out. Steve and Q road in Steve’s truck and the girls (including Summer), Carla and I road back to RV in my van. Back on board the Fercho Mobile, Steve was able to hang up doors and they were fixed up just great- STEVE THANK YOU!!!! We are so appreciative of your time, generosity and expert woodworking skills that fixed the RV doors for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! They hung the doors and headed back home.
Left for Yoga – got there early so we washed the car at the car wash across the street and cleaned and vacuumed the inside! It needed it so much and looks great now. Now to Yoga One – took all 3 kids with me with something to do to stay entertained and quiet during class – Shannon was the instructor. Four people in class – felt like a private lesson. It was great! Awesome, awesome workout! Thanks Shannon - you are good at what you do girl!!!!
We went back to the RV hung out and guess what ......yep we decided to go back to the Morrison’s house – Lisa was texting that we should come back. I called to talk to her about it and we headed out. Crazy crew – they love it at their house.
Dori was already asleep when we got there. She was so tired! We watch “the Wiz” live on TV. It was entertaining and had some fun costumes. The kids really enjoyed it and I laughed that once again – the Wizard of Oz speaking into my life.
Lisa and I snuck out to the store for some breakfast items and few birthday surprises for Morris' big day tomorrow. We were all tired - falling asleep on the couch.
Bedtime…..we switched it up. Franki gave Q and I the big bed –her and Summer took our bed from the night prior and Mena went back to Dori’s bed – she loves that room with the pink and grey décor. We all slept like champs…..we are loving being in Lisa’s home – it is so comfortable.
There is something magical happening here in Charlotte this week. God is stirring us all and I can feel it.
Purpose?!?! Reveal it in your time Lord!
