The Aflac Ducks.  We woke to the ducks quacking outside and it made me chuckle to Dawson once we realized that was indeed the ducks waiting outside for food from the kids.    We got going with breakfast, making up the beds and on to school.  Mena and I took Summer for her morning walk and then we got all our assignments done around 1 pm.  Franki wanted to make mac n cheese for lunch and this time the milk was not frozen and Quinten decided it was the BEST mac and cheese ever!  We spent the afternoon- walking all around the camp ground, checking out the facilities and the work out room – it is rustic or old school but it was enough to get some PE exercise in.  Q and Mena spent the rest of the afternoon fishing and messing with ducks.  They caught lots of small fish that afternoon.  Franki spent some time reading and enjoying her book.
When Dawson was done working we packed up all our dirty laundry and an overnight bag that included all our halloween costumes and headed out to have dinner with Dawson’s aunt and godmother, Deborah and her husband, Bob and their son, Chris.   The garmin nuvi took us the quickest route, which believe it or not, included a ferry right across the river.  What an adventure that was.   The Anderson Ferry!  Summer even got excited and we face timed with Uncle Evan and cousin, Charlie while we went across the Ohio River while sitting in our car.  Too fun.
We arrived at Deborah’s to a yummy chicken dinner.  The kids loved it and we settled in for the Royals game – the first one in New York.   Deb and Bob stated that they hoped we brought our laundry and I wasn’t shy – we said that Deb offered free wifi, tv, food, bedrooms, shower and laundry and that the dog too was welcome.  We took her up on all of it and after we ate and settled in – I went out to get the 2 hampers of laundry that included kitchen and bath towels from the past 3 weeks.  I got started right away and even had some left for Saturday morning.
It was fun to visit and get to know them better and have the kids get to know them.  They talked Deb into digging up a tub of legos that her boys had as kids.  Chris taught Quinten some xbox tricks on fifa and we got comfy on the couch to watch the Royals play ball.
The outcome of the game was not what we wanted but we are still up.  Tomorrow is a new day – Be ROYAL!!!  Thanks Aunt Deb for the fun stories about Dawson, Kass and Evan when they were little kids.  Q and my girls really enjoyed hearing stories about their dad.   It was an enjoyable evening minus the loss.  I think Chris was surprised how loud and animated Dawson gets during the games….especially with some of our errors tonight!  Here is to Friday night fun family time!
More tomorrow.
