Tuesday December 1, 2015
Really – is it December – really?! Wow, I can NOT believe that it is December 1st of 2015. Crazy stuff. We have been on the road just 10 days shy of 2 months! We left October 10th and have been doing the RV trip now almost 2 months. I think we are getting into a better rhythm with the travel, the new places and people each week and for sure with school and each other. We miss the Karleen’s as there really just haven’t been too many kids around for us to interact with – since DC. I tried to get the kids to do the children’s worship at Elevation just to meet some kids their age – but none of them wanted to attend and wanted to stay with us. I was ok with that too because we all hear the same message and have been talking about it the past few days together. Helping one another be grateful. Today, Lord we are grateful for the rain and rain and rain.
Rain all day – we got up and did school and stayed on RV all day. We started with bible study for advent and then journaling and gratitude then we got into the rest of our material and online studies. Dawson was here with us all day too – working on board the bus. Sometimes being on here and just chilling out is really enjoyable as well. Especially when it is so wet outside. No need to go anywhere. Late in the day the sun began to simmer down and stopped at times.
Dawson leaves tomorrow for San Francisco for a business conference. That is a long way to go – literally across the entire country. Today, Dawson and Mike, his partner, got into a heated discussion – CTA issues - UGH. Lots of wasted energy for both of them when they need to be focused on the positive things. They will work it out – seems like things come to a head about 1 -2x a year – let’s be done with that stuff for a while boys! The only real difference with this conversation is it took place on the RV and even with the two doors we have - I could still here Dawson's sight of the conversation. The kids could hear him but didn't pay any attention to the conversation. I just don't like them spending their energy that way when they have so much potential and should stay focused on the opportunities all around them. Anyway, they will see each other this week and that will get them refocused.
Since we were on the RV all day and got lots of school done due to the weather, I decided this body needed to move a little bit. Shannon Wiseman had shared with me the schedule of classes at the University YogaOne studio. So – I asked Dawson and the kids what they thought of me leaving for a little alone time of yoga practice….Hot Yoga for a wet, cold day! They were all in on my heading out and leaving them on the RV.
The yoga studio was fairly close and easy to get to – Shannon was at the front desk when I got there. It was great to see her again. She had me sign a waiver and got me registered as a guest. I am so excited to practice this afternoon. I made the 5:45 pm class. Shannon had her dog there with her – Opie. So sweet. It was a really cool studio and had a great energy! Shannon introduced me to Wendy and Ian – Wendy was one of the managers and Ian would be teaching the hot yoga class tonight. I was excited and ready to get started.
Ian was an incredible yoga instructor and really enjoyed the workout and practicing with others. It was also nice to get warmed up in the "hot" studio - especially after being cold all day. Ian also lead an awesome workout. John was in the yoga class and I liked how loud his breathing was as I often forget to breathe. Nice to be close to someone that breathes loudly - helps me to sink up and follow along. John - good workout - good job my friend! YogaOne was AWESOME with Ian and the class. Shannon and Wendy it was great – thank you! Wendy - I love your idea of yoga at studios all over the country....I will see what I can find.
I made my way back to the RV and since Dawson and the kids were in the RV all day - they were ready for a dinner outing. We first went to return the movie - that I forgot to take with me to return after yoga. We went back to the CVS that we got it from and tried to returned the movie to the Red Box but it didn’t work in the rain that night. Dawson was laughing at me in the van - but soon came out in the rain to try to return it to the box - and he couldn't get it to rain either. Funny boy! So we found another Red Box down on the other side of the speedway. This one was sheltered from the cold and rain and that made it much easier! It was a great movie but I don't want to keep paying for it.
From there we went to Ruby Tuesday's for some dinner. We should have taken note that it was hard to find since the outside lights were all off including the sign. They were having some sort of power issue - all lite up inside but not outside. There was a family with a very sweet baby girl that was smiling at us. They were waiting for their ticket and had some issues with their dinner. They hoped our experience was better- they talked to us as they left. We ordered and had appetizers. The kids food came out and by the time they were done eating Dawson and I still didn't have our food. That won't be a fun time with them being done and us not even started. So Dawson went to check on it. While we were there 2 police officers stopped by to check on the restaurant. Apparently the electrical issue impacted their computer system and it caused our order to be broken up. They prepared our food to go and we took it back to the RV to eat. The manager took off our appetizer and we paid the bill and headed out. We watched a show on Brett Farve on ESPN – it was really interesting and we all enjoyed learning more about him - outside of football. Kind of funny D and I ate on RV
Watched a show about Brett Farve very cool.
D leaves tomorrow morning at 4 am – wow that is really early. Steve, has offered to pick Dawson up and take him to the airport so that I don't have to get the kids up and out that time of the night or morning - which ever one works for you. Steve - thank you!!! You are so incredibly generous to get up and take him - especially that early. We ALL APPRECIATE it.
I will probably be sore tomorrow...although I do yoga on the RV with DVD's - I haven't had a workout like that since leaving KC. I love YogaOne and hope to go back a few more times this week. I want a YogaOne studio in KC! I loved the energy and the concept.
Namaste.
